Legal
Terms of Service
Effective May 17, 2026. We’ll update this page when these terms change and email the account owner at least 30 days before the change applies.
1. The short version
BadgeBadger is a SaaS application that helps you design, print, and manage employee or student ID cards. You bring the data, we render the badges. You stay in control of your data; we host the platform that makes it work. These terms describe what each of us is responsible for.
2. The account
Signing up creates an account tied to your email. You’re responsible for keeping the password (or magic-link inbox) safe and for the actions of anyone you invite to your organization. If you believe an unauthorized person has accessed your account, email us at help@badgebadger.app and we’ll help you secure it.
To use BadgeBadger you have to be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of contract in your jurisdiction) and authorised to act on behalf of any organization you sign up for.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BadgeBadger to:
- print credentials for anyone who hasn’t consented (i.e. forging identification);
- scrape or republish the service in a way that competes with us;
- store or render content that’s unlawful, infringing, hateful, sexually exploitative of minors, or designed to deceive an identity-verification process operated by a third party; or
- attempt to reverse engineer the platform, probe for vulnerabilities except via our security disclosure flow, or interfere with other customers’ use of the service.
If you notice a security issue, please report it to security@badgebadger.app. We’ll respond within five business days.
4. Your data
The employee/student records, photos, templates, and rendered badges you upload remain your property. You grant BadgeBadger a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you.
We don’t use your data to train AI models. Photos and PII are stored encrypted at rest in our Supabase database; transport is HTTPS-only. See the Privacy Policy for the full data flow.
When you delete an employee or cancel your account, we delete the associated records within 30 days. You can export everything to CSV from Settings → Employees at any time before cancellation.
5. Subscriptions and billing
BadgeBadger has a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans renew monthly or annually. We charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing cycle.
You can cancel a paid plan at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation stops future renewals; we don’t pro-rate the current billing period unless legally required to do so in your jurisdiction.
Card prices for retransfer printers, blank stock, and other consumables are not part of your subscription. Those are between you and your hardware vendor.
6. The Print Agent
BadgeBadger Print Agent is a separate, open-source desktop application you optionally install on the workstation attached to your card printer. It runs entirely on your computer. We don’t collect anything from the agent except its paired-device label and the printer names it reports to your organization. Source code is available at github.com/stevenbroyer/badgebadger-print-agent.
7. Service availability
We do our best to keep BadgeBadger online and useful. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We don’t commit to a specific uptime percentage in these general-purpose terms; enterprise customers can negotiate an SLA separately.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that’s violating these terms, abusing the platform, or attempting to defraud a billing provider. We’ll email you first and give you a reasonable window to fix the issue except where doing so would put the service or other customers at risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BadgeBadger’s total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of New Jersey unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
